God is so good. We saw so many miracles in this busy week On Wednesday we had exchanges. I stayed in Show Low with Sister Lawther, and had to take lead. I don't know what it is about exchanges, but cool things always happen. We had stopped and gotten out of the car to get more pass along cards in the back. I looked up the road and there was a guy walking towards us. I took "extra" time getting them from the back so we could meet him right as he was passing. He had headphones in, so we scared him just a little bit by jumping on front of him and yelling Hey! We started talking and he thought it was pretty cool we were sister missionaries, because he had only ever met elders. He told us we were the first missionaries to intrigue him. He asked us right then and there if we could go somewhere so we could teach, and talk to him some more. We headed across the road to sit on some swings at a little abandoned park. It was so good, and he wanted to meet again that same night. The only bummer is that he is YSA age, so we passed him off to the other sisters. I'm excited to see how he progresses.
So all the real cool miracles happened Saturday. It's funny how God keeps us on our toes and holds out until last minute. Saturday was amazing. First we had a lesson with Ken. I absolutely love Ken. He is just one of those people you can't help but love. Previously he was on date for baptism in January...which is pretty far away. We felt really prompted to talk about baptism again. What was so cool is that by the end we said "you're probably wondering why we are bringing up baptism again..." Before we could say anything else he said, "I don't want to wait all the way until January to be baptized" we almost started crying. He has come such a long way, and we love him to death. He now is on date for September 20th. He also came to church with two broken feet. What a champ. Miracle #2: We have been teaching Clarice. She is Navajo Indian and the missionaries have been teaching her for quite sometime now. She hasn't been able to commit to baptism, because she wants to be 100% in if she does get baptized. So we invited her to one of the Elders baptisms. It was a Native American getting baptized from the Cibecue Reservation. It really touched Clarice. After the baptism her two girls that were with her wouldn't stop talking about how they wanted to get baptized. All of a sudden she said, "maybe I could be baptized with you" I'm pretty sure we just stood there in shock for a moment. We set a date for her and her oldest son and daughter to be baptized on September 1st. On Sunday she told us that she asked her daughter's why they wanted to get baptized so badly. They both said they wanted to be like Laci and be a good person. Laci is a member and is best friends with Clarice. It just stood out to me of how huge an impact it is on other people to be that example. It wasn't the missionaries that changed that for Clarice, but the small and quiet example of those who had befriended her. She wants the happiness they have. Continue to be those examples and share the gospel in everything you do. I love what Howard W. Hunter said, " A great indicator of one's personal conversion is the desire to share the gospel with others." Love and miss you!
