Pictures from a hike this morning. It was another exciting week! We had zone conference on Tuesday. It was so good. We met with Clarice and her kids again. I'm so happy for them. The whole time they wanted to plan for the baptism, because of how excited they are! Thursday I had language Skype again with Sister Schenk and Elder McNiven. We do this every week, and I am so grateful. It is the best. On Friday we had a cool lesson with a girl named Makayla. Earlier this week we got a text from a lady in our ward saying that her daughter finally could be taught by missionaries. They have been praying this day would come for the longest time. Her biological father finally agreed to let her take the lessons. They need all the prayers they can get, because the father could change his mind on any given day. The spirit was so strong during that lesson. After we had finished, Makaylas mom looked at us with tears in her eyes, and said she felt the Holy Ghost so strongly bearing testimony that every word we said was true. She said it took her back to when she heard the restoration for the first time. We also got to teach Alyza. I haven't ever talked about Alyza, but she is pretty special to us. Alyza is a 10 year old girl that is so excited about the gospel, and loves when we come by to teach her. It's a weird situation, because her parents want her to be taught, because they know churches teach good morals and values, and they want that for their daughter. The parents on the other hand let us know they are not interested.... at least so they say. We had a break through last week. While we teach, Alyzas dad sits in a chair in the corner and works on his computer. Every once in awhile he will look up and just stare at the wall. We have no doubt he is listening. This last time we shared a video about who we truly are in the eyes of our Heavenly Father. The video talked about our purpose as spirit sons and daughters of God. During this I glanced over, and saw tears filling his eyes. Sunday was a good day, We had 6 people come to church, and one of them was Corinda. She has a testimony, and is ready, but hasn't been able to go to church because of work. She was there Sunday, so she is still on date for baptism on the 18th of this month. Sunday night, I finally got to teach Sister Tsosie in Ilonggo! I taught the Restoration. She thought it was the coolest thing to hear the first vision in her own language. It really touched her heart. She wanted me to meet her mom, so at the end, we Skyped her mom who is in Bacolod! Something someone said really stuck out to me this week. They said, "the work isn't just hastening, It is urgent." Pray for missionary opportunities this week:) Love you and thanks for everything you all do! A few pictures proving Emily is still weird, and I love it. :)EM PLAYING CARDS with Corydon Cooley and Marion Clark. According to the legend, the city Show Low was named after a marathon poker match, where the stakes were a 100,000 acre ranch. After no one seemed to get the upper hand, one player decided to end the contest by declaring to the other, "show low and you win". The other player produced a deuce of clubs (the lowest possible card) and won the ranch. Show Low's main street is named "Deuce of Clubs" in remembrance.
