Emily's homecoming is next Sunday, January 19th @ 8:30am. 185 Ridgeview Dr. This week was a bittersweet one. I'm going to miss these beautiful people so much! In my departing testimony on Sunday I shared Mosiah 18:30; " And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the waters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever. " The land of Mormon to Alma and his people is to me the Philippines. I understand the need they had to emphasize over and over again the place were they came to the knowledge of their Redeemer. Bacolod truly is beautiful in my eyes, because here more than anything I more fully came to know my Savior through loving and serving the children of Heavenly Father. I will forever be grateful for the chance I had to serve a mission. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. For the past 18 months as I've testified, I've felt the Spirit reconfirming that truth over and over again. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and has a perfect plan for us even when we don't fully understand it all. I know that He continues to lead and guide us through living prophets, seers and revelators. I know that President Russell M. Nelson is His prophet here on earth. I know Jesus is the Christ and that through His Atonement and Gospel we can change and become the person our Heavenly Father wants us to become. I know that peace, comfort and strength are readily available as soon as we reach out to Him with a sincere and repentant heart. See you all real soon. Love, Sister Adams Emily also sent this about her week to me before she had to go..... It was a pretty normal week. We had MLC and then we spent the week teaching and saying goodbye. Knowing I will be back here soon made it a little easier. MLC was pretty funny though because after lunch before we started again, they wanted a musical number while we waited to keep the spirit. I don't know why, but people started shouting SISTER ADAMS. Palagpat gid. I kept nodding my head nooooo, but then they said you and Sister Clark can sing together. Sister Clark looked at me and said, "we'll just do what we did at the Baptism". We went up to the front and she started to sing the first verse and as I went to start on the second verse, my voice squeaked pretty badly because of my cough and sore throat that I had this week. I started to laugh and then Sister Clark laughed and no matter how many times we tried to start again I just couldn't do it. So I just went and sat down while everyone else was laughing. I wish there was a video, because it was so much funnier in person. I will have to buy luggage later today when we go shopping. The suitcase I had almost lasted. Last night it broke as I was zipping it up. Em left her cord to download pics in her suitcase. Here are a few more pics from the De Guzman's. They are the sweetest people ever!
